What will you be doing?

As HR Manager at Holland Colours, you lead with structure and a sharp eye for efficiency—always looking for ways to upgrade how HR operates, communicates, and delivers value. But modernizing HR is more than improving systems. It’s about supporting teams, enabling leaders, and creating a workplace where trust and performance thrive together. From talent strategy and benefits programs to leadership development, your work will shape how we attract, retain, and grow people across borders. This is what you’ll do:

  • You lead the Americas HR team of two, taking full responsibility for shaping and delivering the regional HR agenda
  • You balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution, leading everything from workforce planning to payroll accuracy
  • You drive efficiency through smarter systems, documentation, and automation
  • You act as a senior advisor to management on people, culture and organizational development
  • You contribute to global programs such as leadership development, and talent planning
  • You support and coach managers on change and performance

The Team

As HR Manager at Holland Colours you understand how to operate within a matrix structure. You report directly to the Global HR Director (based in the Netherlands), with a dotted line to the Division Director Americas. That means you work on both the ‘what’: HR vision, structure, and strategic programs developed globally, and the ‘how’: the local execution, tailored to the needs of the region. Around 75% of your time is focused on the local HR agenda, while the remaining 25% connects you to global initiatives, working with HR colleagues across Europe and Asia to share best practices.

 

Locally, you’re a core member of the Americas management team, working alongside the Division Director, Business Controller and Operations Manager to align HR strategy with operational needs. You act as a trusted partner for change, helping shape organizational structure and people development.

 

On a global level, you’re part of an international HR team of 12 professionals in Europe, Asia, and the US. You’ll lead a two-person HR team in Richmond (IN): an HR Generalist and an Assistant who supports administrative tasks and events. Your leadership sets the tone in creating a department that others trust, respect, and want to engage with.

As HR Manager at Holland Colours, you understand the rhythm of a manufacturing environment, and the people who keep it running. You listen actively to the needs of each location and translate those insights into meaningful action. When needed, you ask tough questions, adapt across cultures, and challenge leaders constructively to move the business forward. Ready to step into the driver’s seat? Here’s what you need:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience
  • You bring at least 8 years of HR experience, including time in a leadership role managing reports
  • You’re a continuous improver, naturally curious and never stop asking: how can we do this better?
  • You have experience in a global company and understand how to operate within a matrix structure
  • You understand the dynamics of a manufacturing environment and know what plant teams need to thrive
  • You are comfortable using digital tools to streamline HR tasks
  • You are available on-site at our Richmond (Indiana) facilities three days a week.
