Responsibilities

Core duties of this role

Development

  • Lead color design, quality assurance and quality control functions for the division.
  • Represent the technology and quality departments on the divisional management team.
  • Ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice.
  • Develop the annual budget for Innovation, R&D, Quality, and Application Technology.
  • Achieve the innovation targets and strategic objectives for product design, program management and launch of new products and product technology for the division.
  • Maintain an understanding of customer processes and product requirements. Translate these into new products, determine potential and prioritization of projects.

Collaborations

  • Partner with commercial and operational departments to develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of Holland Colours products and processes.
  • Manage the competencies of the team by establishing training, assignments, priorities, and goals to assure smooth functioning and interaction of the department.
  • Partner with relevant colleagues in Europe and Asia.
  • Lead customer complaint process to drive continuous improvement for reduction of defects and increased customer satisfaction. Develop and track key performance indicators.
  • Motivate a high-performance team; recruit, develop and maintain qualified employees.
  • Participate in technology, innovation, operational, and divisional meetings as required.

Our requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer or Material Science.
  • Minimum five years of technical management experience.
  • Knowledge of quality management and continuous improvement methodology.
  • Experience in plastics and/or color industry, knowledge of market needs and relevant industries.
  • Successful track record of leading projects and translating market demand into products.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, excellent fluency in English, Spanish is a plus
