Business Development Manager (Export)

As a Business Developer you are identifying, connecting, and creating interest with key industry influencers and new customers for Holland Colours propositions. You are responsible for delivering strong new business growth as laid down in our Mid Term Business Plan. And you will capture sales opportunities into sales funnel and ensure follow through leading new business realization.

What you'll be doing

Deliver strong new business growth, meeting or exceeding the Strategic Growth ambition as laid down in the Mid Term Business Plan. Identify, connect, and create interest with key industry influencers and new customers for Holland Colours propositions. Lead market introductions in the region of new value propositions. Capture sales opportunities into sales funnel and ensure follow through leading new business realization.


Main Work

  • Lead (responsible for) the execution of the Market Activation Plans;
  • Responsible for market research to identify potential opportunities for business growth; 
  • Identifies unmet needs in the market, in order to create new value propositions and steer new product development (to support the PMM in this/provide input).
  • Lead and support the creation and execution of customer tests.
  • Develop and present detailed proposals addressing client needs and aligning solutions with business goals;
  • Generate new business leads through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, and online platforms.
  • Active involvement with key industry associations 
  • Develop and implement effective prospecting strategies to expand the customer base.
  • Influence key decision-makers including brand owners and creates pull through demand of products.
  • Lead negotiations with potential clients to establish mutually beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for Implementation of price strategy per customer grow
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of business development activities and client interactions in the CRM tool;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams: Marketing, Product market management, New Product Development and Sales to achieve the strategic goals.


Marketing support/coordination
  • Coordinate sales & marketing materials for the division = continuous
  • Translations of sales / marketing materials 
  • Arranging goodies / gifts for customers = continuously
  • Leads assessments in CRM for the division
  • Coordination of new sales materials for the division
  • Create online content for the division stakeholders (corporate communication and branding)

Event/fair coordination (online / offline events)

  • Manage event calendar for the division (which fairs & customer/distributor events for the next 2 years) + manage budget per event (Based on input Sales leaders + MT)
  • Making project planning per fair/event + overall coordination of all preparations, leading project team

Fair preparation

  • Preparation of marketing campaigns before and during the fair 
  • Coordination with trade fair organization
  • Arranging hotel rooms, transport/ shipping

Are you ready to deliver strong new business growth, meeting or exceeding the Strategic Growth ambition, this is what you’ll need to bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferably technical, alternatively business)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a relevant position 
  • Established industry network
  • Proven track record in B2B sales (preferably in Specialty Chemicals)
  • Strong business acumen, Sales Hunter personality profile
  • Self-starter with strong networking ability, both internally and externally
  • Profound understanding of market trends 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Fluent English verbal and written.
