Main Work

As a Product Development Team Leader in Surabaya, you will blend your technical skills with leadership, shaping our products and the people who develop them. You will work with a diverse range of applications: from solid to liquid. And from colors to additives. To stay at the forefront of the industry, you will be supporting sustainability practices, enhancing recycling processes, and navigating complex legislation related to food contact materials. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and inspiring the Product Development Team in Surabaya, fostering a culture of collaboration;
  • Supporting and coaching the team on the delivery of innovation projects;
  • Understanding and responding to customer needs to generate new business opportunities;
  • Managing and execute large and complex innovation projects and contributing with technological expertise;
  • Collaborating with local and global colleagues to drive global product development initiatives and enhance product stewardship.

In Product Development at Holland Colours, collaboration is key. Our team in Surabaya is known for its collaborative spirit and familial environment. You will regularly collaborate with product development colleagues in the US and Europe. As well you will coordinate with product marketing, procurement, and operations to scale up and commercialize new products.

Requirements

Job criteria

Are you ready to lead and innovate within the dynamic world of colorants and additives? As Product Development Team Leader at Holland Colours in Surabaya, this is what you’ll need to bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in (Polymer) Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material science or similar; 
  • Profound understanding of formulation in coatings, sealants and adhesives, and/or knowledge of polymer extrusion techniques;
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a lab setting in the chemical industry;
  • A strong business acumen to see the bigger picture and business context of the industry;
  • Mature communication skills to coach peers and discuss complex issues with stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English and Indonesian language.
