At Holland Colours, we believe that co-design is about collaboration in every form: developing new ideas together, engaging in open, ongoing dialogue about how to improve and create tailored solutions that solve real challenges. Our work with Orbia B&I (Wavin) perfectly illustrates this approach.
Together, we’ve moved beyond colorants as commodities and developed specialized products like the Super White Holcobatch, co-created through ongoing collaboration, testing, and hands-on teamwork.
About Orbia B&I / Wavin
Orbia is a global company active in multiple sectors, including sustainable infrastructure, mobility, and agriculture. Within this group, Wavin is the brand focused on building and infrastructure solutions, particularly pipe systems for water management, climate resilience, and in-building technologies. They serve as a major production hub for high-quality plastic pipes and fittings.
Wavin is a market leader in the Netherlands for building and construction piping systems. And when it comes to pigmented PVC, they turn to Holland Colours.
What did we co-design?
The collaboration between Wavin and Holland Colours goes far beyond supplying colorants. We co-develop solutions, tailored, tested, and optimized together.
One strong example is the Super White Holcobatch, developed specifically for Wavin’s in-house pipe systems. This project was a joint effort between Jan Bakker and Tom Reinders from Orbia and Maarten Vegelin from Holland Colours, brought to life through frequent meetings and hands-on testing.
By using Holcobatch and Holcoprill for their PVC applications, Wavin not only achieves excellent dispersion and color performance, they also benefit from:
- A more efficient production process
- Reduced scrap
- And ultimately lower cost prices
