Burcin is a Growth Marketer at Holland Colours and joined the company in June 2024. “I believe that teamwork is the key to achieving great results. Collaboration, learning from each other, and aiming for shared goals truly make the difference.”

 

Who are you, and what is your role at HCA?

My name is Burcin, and I’m a Growth Marketer at Holland Colours. I focus on marketing for several key segments: Building & Construction, Coatings, Sealants & Adhesives, Coated Fabrics, and Specialties. My role spans everything from campaign planning and content creation to data analysis, strategy, and launching new products.

 

What appealed to you to start working at HCA?

I joined HCA on June 1st, 2024. I was looking for a role where I could make a meaningful impact, somewhere with variety, responsibility, and a strong sense of purpose. What stood out about HCA was the shared ownership model and how many colleagues have been here for years and genuinely care about the company. I felt that connection immediately and wanted to be part of it.

It’s not just about launching campaigns; it’s also about constantly learning from them. A big part of my job is analyzing what worked, what didn’t, and figuring out how we can do better next time.

 

What makes working at HCA so enjoyable?

Honestly? The people. Our marketing team is full of unique personalities, and there’s always something to laugh about. Being in meetings with people who bring deep experience is incredibly valuable. I’m learning every day. No two days are the same. I might be planning a launch in the morning, aligning with the commercial team after lunch, and diving into campaign data later. The variety keeps things interesting. After spending a lot of time on a project, I love launching them and seeing the results. 

 

What was a moment you felt really proud of your work at HCA?

Wrapping up our webinar series for the Coatings, Sealants & Coated Fabrics segments. It was a true team effort where multiple departments came together to deliver value to customers. I felt proud to contribute to something so collaborative and impactful. A real "team up to excel" moment.

 

What energizes you?

Our growth initiative campaigns! I love the structured, creative process of testing, learning, and improving. It gives me the freedom to bring my ideas to life, and it feels like a real playground for creativity and growth. And next to that, there’s always something going on, especially around new initiatives. Things move, and you’re involved in different topics. It’s a dynamic place and I think that’s great.

 

What’s the atmosphere like in your department?

It’s the mix of different personalities, shared humor, and a way of working that just flows naturally. Everyone brings their own strengths, and together it creates a team dynamic that’s both fun and productive. Our team events really help us stay connected, even with colleagues from divisions across the world, like in the US and Asia. 

 

Which quote best fits you and your work and why?

I believe that a team is very important to reach a goal. Everybody has their own strengths and will complete each other. Together you can reach more than alone. I am a team person, I believe you can learn a lot in a team, and it motivates me that there are more people that aim for the same goals and complete the bigger picture together.  

 

How does HCA help you grow, both professionally and personally? 

Professionally, I work on a lot of different areas of marketing, which keeps me learning. Personally, I feel lucky to have a manager who really gives you space to grow and supports you in the right moments. 

 

What is your ultimate HCA tip for newcomers? 

Take lunch walks. Just a short stroll in all the greenery around us can reset your brain and boost creativity. Plus, you often come back with a better idea! Also, talk to people from other teams right away. It helps you learn faster and makes work more enjoyable. Speak your mind and people will listen.
